The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting jazz music through public performance and education outreach. The organization was founded in 1999 by orchestra director Vance Thompson and has grown into one of the region’s most active performing arts organizations, presenting dozens of concerts and educational activities each year. It is governed by a board of directors comprised of local leaders who are passionate about jazz.
