Jazz @ the Emporium. Tuesdays from 7-8:30PM in January. Join pianist Mimi Terry and the Knoxville Women in Jazz Quartet or an evening of great music.

16-year-old pianist Mimi Terry plays well beyond her years, and has been doing so for quite some time. Mimi won the audition for pianist in the Knoxville Jazz Youth Orchestra (an ensemble comprised primarily of students grades 9-12) when she was in the 5th grade. She stayed in that role for four years before opting to relinquish the position, and has also been a regular participant in the Knoxville Jazz Workshop, another educational arm of the KJO.

Mimi has studied privately with Donald Brown, Taber Gable, Rachel Acuff and others and has won scholarships to attend summer jazz camps at Brevard and Berklee College of Music in Boston. She performs regularly around the region and will feature her latest musical project for this performance, the Knoxville Women in Jazz Quartet.
