The group performs music by the legendary Dave Pell Octet, a cool jazz group from the 1950’s based in Los Angeles. The Pell Group counted Pepper Adams, Marty Paich, Benny Carter, Mel Lewis, Art Pepper, Red Mitchell, and a young John Williams (of Star Wars fame) among it’s membership.
The Don Hough Octet includes Stewart Cox, trumpet; Will Boyd and Tom Johnson, saxophones; Ben Dockery, piano; Larry Vincent, guitar; Dave Slack, bass; Keith Brown, drums; Kelle Jolly, vocals and Don Hough, trombone.
