Join us for an evening of great jazz with the Don Hough Octet at the beautifully restored Maple Grove Estates. Appetizers, wine and desserts will be provided at this one-of-a-kind fundraiser for the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.
The Don Hough Octet is a dynamic ensemble comprised of some of the region’s most accomplished performers. The group performs music by the legendary Dave Pell Octet, a cool jazz group from the 1950’s based in Los Angeles. The Pell Group counted Pepper Adams, Marty Paich, Benny Carter, Mel Lewis, Art Pepper, Red Mitchell, and a young John Williams (of Star Wars fame) among it’s membership.
The Don Hough Octet includes Stewart Cox, trumpet; Will Boyd and Tom Johnson, saxophones; Ben Dockery, piano; Larry Vincent, guitar; Dave Slack, bass; Keith Brown, drums; Kelle Jolly, vocals and Don Hough, trombone.
The Maple Grove Estate is located at 8800 Westland Drive, 37923. Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. Admission is $100 per person and includes the concert plus complementary appetizers, wine and dessert. To make a reservation, contact Jan Bechtel at 865-675-0025 or jangbechtel@gmail.com
