Saxophonist and composer Kenny Garrett has been one of the dominant voices in modern jazz since his emergence on the international scene in the 1980s. He cut his teeth alongside Knoxville legend Donald Brown in bands led by Art Blakey and Freddie Hubbard and also had a productive stint with Miles Davis before becoming a band leader himself in the 1990s.
